Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or making a purchase on Confident in Mexico (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated at confidentinmexicoapp.com.

2. Description of Service

Confident in Mexico is a Spanish confidence trainer for English-speaking travelers. It provides scripted travel scenarios with guided practice (Training Mode) and real-time speech response practice (Pressure Mode). It is not a language course and does not offer CEFR certification or academic credit.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Payments and Refunds

Access to the full scenario library requires a one-time payment of $20 USD, processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase you agree to Stripe’s Consumer Terms.

  • No recurring charges. The $20 payment is a one-time fee. There is no subscription.
  • Refund policy. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us at support@confidentinmexicoapp.com within 7 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
  • Access. Paid access is tied to your account and is non-transferable.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to bypass payment gates, reverse-engineer the Service, or access content you have not paid for.
  • Upload audio or content that is harmful, abusive, or violates any applicable law.
  • Use automated tools or scripts to access or abuse the Service (including speech-to-text endpoints).
  • Share, resell, or redistribute any content from the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

All scenario scripts, audio recordings, and product content are owned by Confident in Mexico. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own travel preparation. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Service without written permission.

7. Speech Audio

Audio you record during practice sessions is transmitted to OpenAI’s Whisper API solely for transcription and is not stored by us after processing. By using Pressure Mode or Training Mode audio recording, you consent to this temporary transmission. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Disclaimers

  • The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee that practicing with the Service will result in fluent Spanish communication in all real-world travel situations.
  • We are not liable for any interruptions to the Service, including those caused by third-party providers (OpenAI, Stripe, AWS, Vercel).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Confident in Mexico shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for access ($20).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@confidentinmexicoapp.com.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
